Our Philosophy - Biodynamic Meat Western Australia

Biodynamic Meat Western Australia

We undertake all our farm activities with a great deal of care and thought for our land, pasture, animals, our own lifestyle and the welfare of the consumer. One of the things we have learned over the years is the value of long term thinking when implementing strategies and structures.

Therefore we view our operation as a wholistic concern, and the concept 'from the paddock to the plate' takes on an entirely new meaning. In other words we are conscious at all times of a whole chain of events that interlinks the earth, animals and humans. For instance if we create a balanced soil then we don't need to use synthetic chemicals that would pollute our own farm as well as neighbouring properties, the river and the entire system, not to speak of the deleterious effect on everybody's health and well-being.

Thus we regard the consumer as an integral part of the whole food chain, and ultimately we as farmers owe it to ourselves, our children and to our customers that we make available a healthy, nutritious and clean food that meets the highest standard possible.

On the other hand, being an integral part of a food chain, the consumer also needs to be appreciative of the hard work, commitment and care that goes into growing their food. Farming can be an unforgiving occupation, especially since everything depends so much on the weather and the seasons and the vagaries of the market fluctuations. It is our belief that we as farmers and producers deserve a fair price for our labour, dedication and responsibility. We can't think of any industry where the customer buys the Rolls Royce version of a product for less than the ordinary edition and we don't see any reason why a farmer should have to be the exception to this culture.

In short, we believe in:

Treating the soil well.

Treating the land well.

Treating the animal well.

Ensuring that our beef and hogget is healthy and free from any artificial interference.

Respecting ourselves and the customers.

Looking after the planet and the environment.

Getting a fair price for our product.

Making our product available at a fair price to the customer (that's why we deliberately focus on the average householder rather than the gourmet sector).

Minimising having to deal with unnecessary middle people.

Getting to know our customers and vice versa.

The direct contact is invaluable and is one of the most enjoyable if not the most enjoyable aspect of our operation!
