Our Product - Organic Meat Western Australia

Organic Meat Western Australia

As already outlined we sell choice 18 month old steers that we raise with care and pride and we love what we're doing! As biodynamic farmers we emphasise the positives of our farming operation rather than pronouncing 'no this and no that'. But it is nevertheless very important to stress that we guarantee that we adhere to the strict guidelines and requirements set down by the Biodynamic Research Institute (BDRI) that allows us to use the Demeter? trademark.

Furthermore we do not believe in the practice of feed lots, so our cattle are at all times kept free range, allowing them to naturally select what they require. We do make one temporary exception with the calves who spend a one week only period at weaning in the cattle yard. To ease the weaning we offer them some of our own oaten hay for this one week. At the end of summer we sometimes make available to our stock some home made licks; all the natural ingredients to those licks are BDRI approved. At the same time, if we deem it necessary, we also supplement their feed with oaten hay grown biodynamically here on Baramba. We have had literally hundreds if not thousands of satisfied customers, and the feedback we hear most often, especially from older folk is, that apart from the obvious health benefits, our beef tastes like it used to taste. Also a very often heard comment is that even the cheaper cuts cook well and turn out tender after a surprisingly short cooking time. When you buy Baramba Beef the carcase will have been hung and chilled for anywhere between 8 and 12 days in order to allow it to bring out its natural tenderness and flavour. It is suitable for freezing and should last for up to a year in your freezer. At this stage we are mainly selling in bulk. For more information about buying in smaller quantities go to other outlets. Rather than selling specific cuts each customer will get an equal quarter share of the whole body when purchasing a quarter of beef. For information about specific cuts click on cuts per quarter.

We are always on the lookout to find ways of selling smaller quantities to people who don't have the facilities to purchase in bulk. Most of our customers go halves or share with some friendly neighbours, friends, colleagues or relatives.

At this stage we sell the following bulk products:

Beef Quarters @ 15-00kg  anywhere between 16kg to 35kg per quarter, average about 20 to 25kg.
Gluten Free Beef Sausages @ 13-00kg  minimum order 10kg.
Extra Lean Beef Mince @ 14-00kg  minimum order 10kg.

Please note that these prices are subject to change.

We also sell hogget (yearling sheep) in single packs at the markets and in other outlets.
