This breakdown of what is contained in each quarter is only a rough guide. Depending on the weight of the animal and the way the butcher dresses it, there can be quite a few variations. We have also found that the seasonal variables can cause a considerable fluctuation on the finished weight.
 
Generally the more expensive cuts tend to weigh a bit less per pack, around 300g or so, and the cheaper cuts like chuck steak or mince are around 600g. The silverside or topside roasts can be anywhere from 700g to almost 2kg. Bearing this in mind the quantities you'd be looking at are approximately as follows:
